Frequently Asked Questions
-
No.
You do not need prior knowledge of Irish history, trauma theory, or ancestral work.
We will weave in context along the way, but this is not an academic seminar.
What matters most is a willingness to listen, feel, and explore together.
-
This is not group therapy.
While we work with trauma-informed principles, this is a space of collective exploration, not clinical treatment.
If strong emotions surface, you will be guided with grounding practices and relational support, but the group is not designed to replace therapy or crisis care.
-
Many of us carry personal and ancestral trauma.
This space is built with safety, respect, and care at its core.
However, if you are currently in acute distress, experiencing instability, or in need of intensive therapeutic support, this may not be the right setting at this time.

All you need is a stable internet connection and Zoom, which is free to download and use. Each session link will be sent to you in advance, and if you can’t join live, recordings of the teaching and practice portions will be available to watch afterward. No special equipment is required—just a quiet space where you feel comfortable.
-
All sessions are recorded (with personal sharing edited out), so you can catch up if you can’t be there live.
That said, attending in real-time is important for the depth of connection.
-
Nothing is required.
Some spend 15 minutes a week journaling or reflecting, others more.
Optional triads offer deeper connection between sessions.
In the application process, you’ll also have the option to join a triad that meets between sessions, offering an intimate space to continue digesting and deepening the work together.

It’s very natural to feel some nervousness stepping into a group like this.
You will never be pressured to share more than feels right for you.
Some people find that simply being present, listening, and feeling the resonance with others is already very meaningful.
The structure of the sessions includes moments for reflection, journaling, and small-group or triad processes, which often feel more easeful than speaking in a large group.
Over time, as trust and safety build, many participants discover that they feel more comfortable opening up. Your pace will always be respected.
-
Each session is a living journey rather than a fixed formula.
We begin by arriving together through grounding or somatic practice, then weave in teaching and stories that open the field.
From there, you may be guided into reflection, journaling, or movement before entering small-group or triad dialogues where the work becomes personal and relational.
We then return to the larger circle to share resonance, insights, and new perspectives.
The flow of teaching, practice, and dialogue creates a rhythm that is both spacious and alive, many participants describe the sessions as deeply nourishing, surprising, and transformative.
-
This is not primarily about learning information or debating ideas.
History and cultural context inform us, but the focus is on how these themes live in our bodies, families, and communities today, and how new possibilities for belonging and connection can emerge.
-
This process is exclusively for people of Irish ancestry, whether you live in Ireland or across the diaspora.
The resonance of shared lineage and history creates a depth of field that allows us to explore what is often buried in our bodies and the collective unconscious.
Within this ancestral container, we can meet the legacies of our past with honesty and care, and open new pathways for integration and belonging.

You are warmly invited to reach out with any questions, hesitations, or curiosities.
We want you to feel clear and supported in choosing whether this exploration is right for you.
-
Yes. This program is held with great care for confidentiality. Personal sharing is never included in the replays, and we invite everyone to honour the privacy of the group so it remains a safe and respectful space for healing and exploration.
